Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, firmly asserts that Victor Osimhen is not leaving the club, despite transfer interests from Chelsea and Al-Hilal. A significant £120 million ($154m) bid from Al-Hilal was recently rejected, making headlines, while Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked to the Nigerian striker. Osimhen’s existing contract extends until 2025, and his potential departure remains uncertain, even though negotiations for a new contract are ongoing.

In late July, Al-Hilal, a Saudi Arabian club, made a substantial offer for Osimhen, seeking to secure his talents. However, Napoli turned down the bid, signaling their intent to keep hold of the 24-year-old goal-scoring sensation. Despite the transfer attention and speculations surrounding his future, Napoli’s president, De Laurentiis, is resolute in his statement that Osimhen will not be leaving the club.

In an interview with Sky Sport in Italy, De Laurentiis reaffirmed Napoli’s stance on Osimhen’s future, saying, “Osimhen is staying, he still has two years on his contract. Where should he go? The contracts exist and they are always to be respected on both sides because they are a bilateral relationship.” This statement underscores the club’s commitment to retaining their prized asset and adhering to contractual obligations.

Victor Osimhen’s value has skyrocketed, with reports indicating that he is now worth more than €150 million (£129m/$165m). His remarkable performance last season saw him net 31 goals in 39 games for Napoli, contributing significantly to their Serie A title win, their first in 33 years. Osimhen’s prowess on the field has attracted attention from various corners of the footballing world, including potential suitors from top European clubs.

While Osimhen’s contract discussions continue, Napoli is gearing up for the upcoming league season. The team is set to kick off their campaign against Frosinone on August 19. As negotiations unfold, fans will be watching closely to see if Osimhen commits his future to Napoli with a new contract or explores the possibility of a transfer elsewhere.

Napoli’s President Aurelio De Laurentiis has unequivocally stated that Victor Osimhen will remain at the club, dismissing any notions of an imminent move. Despite the lucrative offers and interest from clubs like Al-Hilal and Chelsea, Osimhen’s current contract and Napoli’s determination to retain their star player point towards a continuation of his journey with the Italian side. As the transfer window unfolds and contract discussions progress, the footballing world eagerly awaits Osimhen’s next move, whether it’s a fresh commitment to Napoli or a new adventure on the horizon.
