Doha Real Estate Market Surges: Record-Breaking Trading Volume Soars to QR1.574bn!
The volume of real estate trading in sale contracts registered with the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice reached QR1,574,575,828. According to the real estate analytical bulletin issued by the Ministry of Justice, a total of 301 real estate transactions were recorded during the month. The municipalities of Doha, Al Rayyan, and Al Dhaayen emerged as the most active in terms of financial value, followed by Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Al Khor and Al Dhakira, and Al Shamal.
The financial value of real estate transactions in the municipality of Doha amounted to QR682,117,639, while the municipality of Al Rayyan reached QR426,787,506 and the municipality of Al Dhaayen amounted to QR209,715,908. Al Wakrah municipality recorded transactions worth QR128,144,286, Umm Salal municipality amounted to QR100,676,550, Al Khor and Al Dhakira municipality reached QR14,907,996, and Al Shamal municipality recorded transactions worth QR12,715,908.
In terms of the traded space index, the municipalities of Al Rayyan, Doha, and Al Wakrah were the most active in terms of traded real estate spaces in June, accounting for 29%, 25%, and 16% respectively. Al Dhaayen recorded 15% of the total traded spaces, Umm Salal recorded 10%, Al Shamal recorded 3%, and Al Khor and Al Dhakira recorded 2%.
When looking at the number of real estate transactions, Doha was the most active municipality with 24% of the total, followed by Al Rayyan with 21%, Al Dhaayen with 18%, Al Wakrah, and Umm Salal each with 15%, and Al Shamal with 4%. Al Khor and Al Dhakira recorded 3% of the total transactions.
The average per-square-foot prices in June varied across municipalities. In Doha, the prices ranged between QR1016-503, Al Wakrah saw prices from QR482-220, Al Rayyan from QR425-350, Umm Salal from QR493-253, Al Dhaayen from QR528-285, Al Khor and Al Dhakira from QR301-221, and Al Shamal from QR162-173.
In terms of properties sold, a total of 10 properties were sold in June, with 5 properties in Doha, 4 properties in Al Rayyan, and 1 property in Al Dhaayen.
In terms of mortgage transactions, there were a total of 93 transactions in June 2023, amounting to QR1,361,502,248. Doha recorded the highest number of mortgage transactions with 48 transactions, followed by Al Rayyan with 22 transactions, Al Wakrah with 9 transactions, Al Dhaayen with 7 transactions, Al Khor and Al Dhakira with 3 transactions, and Umm Salal with 3 transactions.
The value of mortgages in Doha Municipality reached QR930,590,353, while Umm Salal recorded the lowest value at QR4,050,000.
Overall, the number of mortgaged properties exceeded the financial value of mortgage transactions in most municipalities. However, Doha and Al Rayyan saw higher financial values compared to the number of mortgage transactions.
In June, Doha Municipality accounted for 8 out of the top 10 mortgaged properties, while Al Rayyan recorded 2. These top 10 properties represented 74% of the total value of all mortgage transactions that took place during the month.

They can get a family visit visa through a relative residing in the Kingdom and the status of the applicant will be Citizen/ Resident. Saudi citizens can invite their friends to the Kingdom to perform Umrah on a personal visit visa is the second option.
One of the advantages is that they can also visit historical sites and other cultural destinations in various cities of the Kingdom of Saudi. The single entry visa is valid for 90s days meanwhile the multiple entry visa is valid for a year with the duration of stay being 90 days.
The third option is a transit visa where pilgrims can use the transit visit visa if they are arriving by plane. The visa is valid for 90 days and it offers a four-day stay in the Kingdom. Pilgrims can reserve a ticket and submit a visa application through the electronic platforms of Saudia Airlines or Flynas.
Lastly, Citizens of the United Kingdom, European Union countries, USA and Canada from North America, Australia, and New Zealand from the Oceania region, and Japan, China, Singapore, South Korea, Brunei, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan can apply for a visa on arrival.
The conditions of the visa are that the age of the youngest independent Umrah performer should not be less than 18 years. Passport validity is not less than six months; obtain approved medical insurance inside the Kingdom. Visa fees will be levied. It is noted that all pilgrims can apply through the unified national platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at visa.mofa.gov.sa.

Global Investors Urge PM Modi to Revaluate India’s Online Gaming Tax
A group of prominent global and Indian investors, including Tiger Global, DST Global, Peak XV, Steadview Capital, and Kotak Private Equity, have sent a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing their concerns over India’s recently imposed taxation on online gaming. McConaughey launched the Greenlights Grant Initiative, a privately funded program intended to help smaller school districts and local education agencies (LEAs) apply for the competitive grants available under the law. The need for such a program first became clear, McConaughey said, when the actor and his wife, Camila, had dinner with Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) a few months after the bipartisan law was enacted. The lawmaker noted that only 12 of the 119 schools in his district had applied for grants under the law — and none got approved.
“We started to do research and said, ‘Is this a localized problem to that area?’ No. It’s a national problem,” McConaughey said. “We noticed it was happening all over the place that people were not aware or didn’t have the ability or the resources to fill out grants and write them competitively.”
Under the law, the grant money can be reallocated if it isn’t distributed by 2026. “That would make the passing of the bill a great symbol that wasn’t really activated and didn’t become useful, and I think that’d be a shame,” McConaughey said.
Part of the actor’s new effort involves a public awareness campaign with a spot featuring the actor himself and a website launched Thursday, all to ensure school districts know the funding is available. Additionally, the initiative will offer higher-need school districts multiple resources to help in applying for the grants — tutorials, webinars, guidebooks, and even grant writing services at no cost.
Sasha Pudelski, the director of advocacy for AASA, The School Superintendents Association, said the initiative “doesn’t just tell multiple federal agencies to ‘do better’ — it will model for them how to target federal dollars to schools more equitably and how to level the playing field so that resource-poor communities have a fighting chance to pull down critical school safety funding.”
McConaughey, who met with several lawmakers in Washington last summer, has also established a strategic advisory board chaired by a group of bipartisan lawmakers who played key roles in the passage of the BSCA: Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.), Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), Rep. James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.), and Gonzales.

Chicago Rapper G Herbo Admits Guilt: Using Stolen Credit Cards for Private Jets, Luxury Cars, & Jamaican Villa Stay
Chicago rap star G Herbo has agreed to plead guilty to federal charges that accused him of using information from stolen credit cards to pay for private jets, expensive meals, luxury cars, and a stay at a Jamaican villa.
G Herbo, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, signed the agreement Wednesday in the U.S. District Court in Boston, pleading guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of lying to federal agents.
Under the deal, which still must be approved by a judge, Wright faces as many as 20 years in prison, though the sentence could be a lot less. A hearing in the case is scheduled for later this month.
An indictment handed down in late 2020 accused Wright and five others of obtaining stolen credit card information from “dark web sites” and other places. They also used fake IDs, driver’s licenses, and e-mail accounts in the names of aliases and real businesses to defraud people and companies, the indictment stated.
In one instance, Antonio Strong, identifying himself as Wright’s manager, contacted a pet company around Nov. 29, 2017, to order two designer puppies for Wright with a stolen credit card, the indictment stated.
The same stolen credit card was used to pay for a car service to deliver the puppies to Chicago, according to the indictment.
In another case, Wright allegedly sent a direct message to Strong over Instagram around July 7, 2019, requesting a reservation for a private villa in Jamaica, the indictment stated. Strong allegedly made the reservation using stolen payment information, and Wright allegedly stayed at the villa with his associates from July 7 to July 11.
The indictment outlined several other alleged fraudulent payments, including the rental of a Maybach S600 and Bentley CGTC on March 6, 2017.
Herbo, a South Side native, grew into something of a hometown hero as a teenager in the early 2010s, helping lead Chicago’s drill music to international prominence alongside fellow rappers and collaborators Chief Keef and Lil Durk. His music has been lauded for its no-frills, penetrative approach to the violent realities he faced growing up in the city, and, in more recent years, the toll that they took on his mental health.
While Wright has scored gold and platinum plaques and emerged as a local philanthropist, his rise to fame continues to be hampered by legal issues.
Earlier this month, he was found with a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in the River North neighborhood, according to police records.
Wright was charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful use of a weapon after prosecutors denied felony charges, according to an arrest report. He didn’t face additional counts related to the nearly 300 grams of cannabis that were allegedly recovered during the stop in the first block of East Ontario.
Cook County court records show he has been charged in a series of criminal cases since 2014, most of them involving drug and gun charges that have been dropped. Most recently, he pleaded guilty in 2019 to a misdemeanor gun charge and was sentenced to two years of probation.
