Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire: Indian National Vinay Shreekar Chodankar, has joined the growing list of Indian winners of $1 million in the latest draw for the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion. The draw took place in Concourse A of Dubai International Airport. Chodankar, based in Mumbai, purchased the winning ticket (number 3588) on June 30 while traveling from Dubai to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Although currently uncontactable, Chodankar is sure to be thrilled upon learning of his newfound fortune. This win adds him to the prestigious group of 212 Indian nationals who have won $1 million since the promotion’s inception in 1999, with Indian nationals being the largest ticket buyers.
The draw was conducted by Dubai Duty Free’s Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, Colm McLoughlin, along with other officials. In addition to the Millennium Millionaire draw, a previous $1 million winner, Mani Balaraj, from Series 428, received a ceremonial cheque. Balaraj, a resident of Abu Dhabi for 12 years, shared the ticket cost with four friends who have been participating in the promotion for two years. Each series, they alternate the name on the ticket whenever they make a purchase.
Following the Millennium Millionaire presentation, the Finest Surprise draw took place, awarding luxury vehicles to the lucky winners. Aiham Alkeilan, a Syrian national based in Dubai, won a BMW X5 M Competition car, while Arun Sinha, an Indian national from New Delhi, won a Mercedes Benz S500 car. Abdulla Ahmed, an Emirati national from Sharjah, won a BMW S 1000 XR motorbike. Erwin Speiser from Austria was also a winner, receiving a BMW R 1250 RS motorbike. Speiser, a third-time motorbike winner, had previously won in 2017 and 2021.
