As Eid Al Fitr approaches, cities across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are gearing up to facilitate hassle-free travel and celebrations for residents and visitors alike. In addition to offering free public parking during the Eid holidays, transport authorities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah have announced adjusted timings for public transportation services. This comprehensive guide provides detailed information on the free parking schedules and public transport adjustments, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable Eid experience for all.

The changes in timings for public transport and parking arrangements during Eid Al Fitr are implemented to accommodate the increased demand and facilitate smooth mobility for residents and visitors during the festive period. As Eid Al Fitr is a significant religious holiday celebrated by Muslims across the UAE, there is typically a surge in travel and gatherings as people visit family and friends, attend prayer services, and participate in various community events.

To ensure that individuals can move around the cities conveniently and without any hassle, transport authorities adjust the operating hours of public transport services such as the metro, tram, and buses. Extended operating hours allow commuters to travel to and from their destinations comfortably, especially during late-night festivities and early morning prayers.

Additionally, offering free public parking during Eid Al Fitr encourages people to utilize their vehicles for travel, reducing congestion on the roads and providing convenient parking options near popular destinations and prayer venues. This initiative aims to enhance the overall experience of residents and visitors during the joyous occasion of Eid Al Fitr, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to promoting happiness and well-being among its residents.

The joyous occasion of Eid Al Fitr is synonymous with festivities and gatherings, and to enhance the celebratory spirit, free public parking will be available across various cities in the UAE. From Ramadan 29 until Shawwal 3, residents and visitors can enjoy complimentary parking, with paid parking resuming thereafter. The exact dates will be confirmed following the announcement by the moon-sighting committee on Monday, April 8.

In addition to free parking, public transport services in Dubai will operate on adjusted timings to accommodate the increased demand during the Eid festivities. The Dubai Metro will extend its operating hours, running from 8 am to 1 am on Sunday, April 7, and from 5 am to 1 am from Monday to Saturday, April 8 to 13. On Sunday, April 14, the Metro will operate from 8 am to 12 midnight. Similarly, the Dubai Tram will operate from 6 am to 1 am from Monday to Saturday and from 9 am to 1 am on Sunday.

For those utilizing bus services, the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) S’hail app will provide the adjusted schedule during the holiday period, ensuring convenient and reliable transportation options for commuters.

In Abu Dhabi, free parking and toll-free travel on the Darb toll gate system will be available from Monday, April 8, to Sunday, April 14. Public bus services will adhere to the regular weekend schedule, with additional trips scheduled based on demand. Extended hours will be implemented for Abu Dhabi Express and Abu Dhabi Link buses, operating from 6 am to 11 pm.

Sharjah residents can enjoy free public parking on the first, second, and third day of Eid Al Fitr, while parking zones with blue signboards will continue to be subject to fees.

In Ajman, free public parking will be in effect throughout the Eid holidays, with Abra timings set from 8 am to 12 am. On-demand bus services will also be available, operating from 6 am to midnight.

Intercity bus services will also be operational, connecting various emirates and cities within the UAE. Passengers traveling between Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, and Musandam, Oman, can avail themselves of convenient bus timings to facilitate seamless travel during the festive period.
