The heart-wrenching news was revealed through an official statement posted on Lil Tay’s Instagram account. The statement characterized her untimely departure as “unexpected and tragic.” The profound sadness of losing our cherished Claire is expressed in these words: “With heavy hearts, we convey the shocking news of Claire’s sudden and tragic demise.”
This announcement, dated Wednesday (Aug. 9), conveys the depth of the loss: “No words can capture the overwhelming sorrow and incomprehensible pain we are experiencing. The suddenness of this outcome has left us in disbelief.”
The statement further discloses that Lil Tay’s brother has also left us. The sorrow is compounded by this additional loss: “The passing of her brother plunges us into an abyss of grief that words cannot describe.” While the brother’s name remains unspoken, the statement implores for privacy during this time of sorrow:
