In the UAE, Ras Al Khaimah Police have issued a fresh warning to residents, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe distance between vehicles while driving. The new campaign, titled ‘Drive with Caution and Leave a Safe Distance,’ aims to enhance traffic safety and create safer road conditions.
The campaign highlights that the recommended safe distance between vehicles is between 5 meters and 10 meters. This distance should be adjusted according to the speed of the vehicles, increasing by 5 meters for every increment in speed.
Ras Al Khaimah Police took to Twitter to spread awareness about this crucial safety measure. They also reminded motorists that failing to maintain a sufficient distance between vehicles is considered a traffic violation. According to Ministerial Resolution No. 178 and Item No. 52 of the schedule of violations, fines, and traffic points, violators can face a Dh400 fine and the deduction of four traffic points from their record.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police’s initiative aligns with their ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and reduce accidents. By encouraging drivers to keep a safe distance between vehicles, the campaign aims to prevent tailgating and promote responsible driving habits.
It’s essential for all motorists in the UAE to adhere to traffic regulations and prioritize safety on the roads. By obeying the recommended safe distance between vehicles, drivers can contribute to creating a safer and more secure driving environment for everyone.
