Geddam Prabha (24), who got stuck in Muscat after being tricked by an agent, finally reached Thimmarajupalem, her native village in Nidadavole mandal of East Godavari district, thanks to the initiative taken by AP home minister Taneti Vanitha.
Prabha had gone to Muscat on February 9 for employment. But her travel agent tricked her by giving her a visiting VISA valid for only one month. After one month, she started facing hardships and realised that her agent had cheated her. She contacted her family members, who met home minister Vanitha and sought her help. The minister wrote a letter to union minister for foreign affairs S. Jaishankar about Prabha.
The foreign ministry took up the matter with officials in Muscat, leading to her safe return. Prabha, along with her family members, met minister Vanitha on Friday and thanked her for helping her return to Thimmarajupalem.
Vanitha advised people going abroad for employment to be careful and leave India only after getting all necessary certificates. She assured that state government will extend all help in this regard.
